Good afternoon, The State has released a “Yellow” COVID-19 Health Advisory for York County. This designation will not affect our plan for reopening and we will open as scheduled. This change in advisory indicates an elevated risk in the spread of COVID-19 in our area and we will maintain heightened vigilance to our established protocols. Students attending SRTC will be delayed until September 14th and will be notified before Tuesday by the high school about your plan. Enjoy the holiday the weekend and stay safe.

SRTC has delayed the opening of school to Monday, September 14. Some information regarding your MHS classes next week:
- If you are able to transport yourself to MHS then you should attend your classes in-person
- If you are not able to transport yourself then you should attend your MHS classes remotely. Your teachers should have sent you Zoom links this week. If you don’t have the links, reach out to your teachers before your scheduled first day.
About 75% of devices for remote learners were picked up this week! We’re open at MMS until 7 pm tonight. After today, devices may be picked up at your child’s school. If you are picking up tomorrow, please call the school first.
Good afternoon, This message is announce a revision to the start of our Elementary Schools. Due to a delay in the arrival of student furniture, including desks and tables, and the need for additional time to assemble and distribute, Elementary Schools will now begin on September 10th. This revision also includes a staggering to the start of Elementary remote learners. Details of this change, as well as, PK and K school bus orientation information can be found on the district website. An announcement with a link with specific details is forthcoming. As I’m sure many of you are aware, the Department of Education as well as the Department of Health and Human Services responded yesterday to the Maine Principals Associations plans for Interscholastic Athletics in Maine High Schools. Additionally yesterday the guidelines for community recreation have been updated by the Maine Department of Economic and Community development.
DOE and DHHS have returned the plan for restarting interscholastic athletics to the MPA and have also asked for more time for schools to reopen safely before athletic activity. As a result, we await further State agency guidance regarding all fall interscholastic activities.
We fully understand the frustration many are feeling at this time and we ask that you stay positive. We will keep you updated as this situation continues to evolve.

On 8/31/2020 the USDA announced that ALL students will be eligible to receive free school meals until December 31, 2020, or until the funding for this program is no longer available. We are asking that you continue to submit applications for free or reduced meal price benefits. Once funds are no longer available as stated above, your meal accounts will be charged at their approved status. All accounts will be charged full pricing in the absence of an approved free or reduced application. Did you know... that you can earn one free bonus meal when you deposit $50.00 or more onto a student meal account. For example, a payment of $50 will be charged a fee of $2.49, but in return you will receive one bonus meal on the student meal account. The value of the meal exceeds the value of the fee. Bonus meals are automatically applied at lunch once earned.
